The beautiful Village of Westport sits on the western shores of Upper Rideau Lake, which is part of the Rideau Canal UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Visit The Harbour
While in Westport, make sure to visit the harbour where you will find seating and picnic areas with majestic views of Upper Rideau Lake.
The Westport Harbour is located in the heart of the village, a short walk from the car show and all the amenities the village has to offer. As you make your way to the shore, you’ll find food stores, coffee and ice cream shops, licensed restaurants, a country inn, bed and breakfast accommodations, specialty stores, gift shops, a pharmacy, a liquor store, and a beer store.
Explore The Area
Venture beyond the village and you’ll find Foley Mountain, the highest conservation area in the Rideau Valley with the most scenic view of the lake and the village from high atop a granite ridge.
In addition to beautiful views of the area, Foley Mountain features a variety of wildlife on its 325 hectares (800 acres) of woods, ponds, and fields. It is famous for its dynamic, hands-on, education programs for school children and youth groups, as well as its hiking trails and picnic areas.
And if you are staying for the weekend, you’ll want to take a hike along the Rideau Trail, which extends from Kingston to Ottawa and runs through the Foley Mountain Conservation Area.
